SEO for Aesthetic Clinics

For independent practitioners and single‑site clinics — the ones the specialist aesthetics agencies are not priced for

Aesthetics is the one sector where a marketing agency can actively get you into trouble. Advertising rules around prescription-only treatments are strict, publicly enforced, and routinely ignored by agencies who treat a clinic like any other local business. Meanwhile the agencies that do understand the rules are priced for multi-site groups with a marketing budget. If you are a nurse prescriber working from one room, or a clinic owner doing your own social media between appointments, there is not much built for you. This is.

From £100 per month with hosting, a full site audit and a dedicated phone number included. No VAT to add. Published pricing, six‑month minimum term, and no retainer built for a clinic group you are not.

    SEO for Aesthetic Clinics

Before an aesthetic treatment is provided to a cleint at an aesthetics clinic

The Rule Most Agencies Break On Day One

Botox is a brand name for a prescription-only medicine. Advertising prescription-only medicines to the public is prohibited in the UK. That is not an advertising guideline with some flexibility in it — it is a legal restriction, the Advertising Standards Authority enforces it, and its rulings name the clinic publicly.

Despite that, a great many aesthetic clinic websites carry the word across page titles, headings and service pages, usually because a marketing agency put it there. They did it for the best of reasons: it is what people search for, and volume is where an SEO instinct goes first. It is still the single most common way a clinic ends up on the wrong end of a complaint.

The distinction that matters is between informing and promoting. A clinic can describe a treatment category accurately and factually — anti-wrinkle injections, botulinum toxin treatment — explain how it works, what recovery involves and who it suits. What a clinic cannot do is promote a named prescription product to the public. Content that educates is treated very differently from content that sells.

Getting that line right is a content problem before it is an SEO problem, and it is the reason we would rather write your treatment pages ourselves than optimise pages somebody else has already put you at risk with.

The same care applies to before-and-after imagery, to claims about outcomes, and to anything aimed at or capable of reaching under-18s — an area where the law tightened considerably in recent years.

To be clear about our limits: we are an SEO and website company. We are not solicitors, not compliance consultants, and not medically qualified. Nothing here is legal or regulatory advice, and guidance in this area changes. What we do is write content that stays on the informative side of the line and flag anything that looks risky before it goes live — and we will always ask you to check treatment claims, and anything specific to your registration or insurance, with your professional body, your indemnity provider or a qualified adviser.

Four Ways a Patient Searches

They are at very different stages, and a single treatments page serves only one of them.

  • "Anti-wrinkle injections [town]"

Ready to book. Knows the treatment, wants a local practitioner, likely to enquire the same day. High intent and high competition. Needs a page that is clearly about that treatment in that place, with pricing and a straightforward way to get in touch.

  • "Lip filler near me" / "how much is X"

Comparing on price. Often younger, often shopping three or four clinics. Publishing indicative prices filters out the enquiries you do not want and wins the ones you do — clinics that hide pricing lose this search to those that do not.

  • "Best aesthetic clinic in [town]" / "nurse prescriber [town]"

Checking credentials. Has been frightened by a story, or is spending serious money and wants reassurance. Your registration, your qualifications and your named practitioner profile are the whole answer to this search — and they are usually buried on an About page.

  • "Is X safe" / "how long does X last" / "X aftercare"

Researching, weeks out. Not ready to book and frequently ignored because the traffic does not convert immediately. It is also the content most likely to be cited by an AI assistant, and the reason a patient arrives already trusting you.

Most clinic websites are built for the first of those and nothing else. The third and fourth are where the trust gets built, and they are the two that compound — a well-written safety or aftercare page keeps earning for years.

We have worked across this space with a relocating aesthetics clinic in Bradford, a skin health and nutrition practice in Coventry and a laser hair removal business, among others.

Your Registration Is the Strongest Ranking Asset You Have

Aesthetics sits squarely in what search engines treat as a high-stakes category — content capable of affecting someone's health or finances is held to a visibly higher standard. In practice that means who is providing the treatment matters as much as what the page says.

If you are a registered nurse, a nurse prescriber, a doctor, a dentist or a pharmacist, that registration is a specific, verifiable credential that most clinic websites mention once in passing. It should be on the treatment pages themselves, alongside your name, your training, how long you have been practising and which professional register you appear on.

The same goes for the things practitioners treat as ordinary: which products you use and why, your complications policy, whether you carry out a face-to-face consultation before any prescribing decision, what your aftercare actually involves, and how someone reaches you if they are worried at ten o'clock at night. Every one of those answers a real anxiety, and every one gives an AI assistant something concrete to cite when a patient asks it to recommend somebody local.

This is the part of aesthetics SEO that is genuinely hard to copy. A competitor can outspend you on ads. They cannot borrow your registration or your fifteen years of practice.

What We Do for Aesthetic Clinics

Weighted differently depending on whether you are treatment-led, skin-health-led or building a training arm.

  • Compliant Treatment Pages

A page per treatment category, written on the informative side of the advertising line, with indicative pricing and honest expectation-setting rather than promotional claims.

  • Practitioner Credibility

Your registration, training and experience surfaced properly across the site rather than hidden on an About page. The strongest trust signal you own.

  • Local SEO for Your Catchment

Patients travel further for aesthetics than for most services. Getting found across a realistic radius, with Google Business Profile configured correctly.

  • Safety & Aftercare Content

The research-stage questions most clinics never answer. Slow to convert, extremely durable, and the content AI assistants reach for first.

  • Existing Site Review

If a previous agency has left restricted terms across your pages, we will tell you where they are. Whether you act on it is your call and your clinician's judgement.

  • AI Search Optimisation

Structured data, named practitioners and question-and-answer content so your clinic is quotable when a patient asks an assistant who to see.

Priced for a Clinic, Not a Clinic Group

There are agencies that specialise in aesthetics and understand this sector properly. They are good, and they are largely priced for groups running several sites with a marketing budget to match.

If that is you, they are probably a better fit than we are and we will say so. If you are a single practitioner, or one clinic with one treatment room, that pricing is not proportionate to what you would get back — and the alternative most people settle for is a generalist who does not know the advertising rules exist.

We are the middle option. The same published pricing as every other sector we work in, no premium for being a clinic, and a working understanding of the constraints you operate under.

  • £100 Per month, from

SEO & AI search optimisation. Six-month minimum term. Includes hosting, a full website audit, consultancy across your wider digital presence, and a dedicated number if you want one.

  • £300 One-off build, from

New website. A three-page site built mobile-first, supplied alongside a six-month plan. Most clinics need a page per treatment category, so we will quote honestly on scope.

  • £150 Per month, from

Combined package. Ongoing optimisation with continual website development and monitoring. Hosting and a dedicated number included. Six-month minimum term.

No VAT to add. Full detail on our pricing page, and we work across other sectors too, including flooring companies.

Common Questions

Can we mention Botox on our website?

Botox is a brand name for a prescription-only medicine, and advertising prescription-only medicines to the public is prohibited in the UK. Clinics can describe the treatment category — anti-wrinkle injections, botulinum toxin treatment — in accurate, informative terms. What is not permitted is promoting the named product. We write to that distinction, and we are not solicitors, so anything borderline should be checked with a qualified adviser.

Our current site is full of restricted terms. What happens now?

We will show you where they are as part of the audit. What you do about it is your decision and your clinician's judgement — we will not quietly rewrite clinical content without you seeing it. In most cases the fix is rewording rather than removing pages, and the rankings usually hold because the underlying treatment content stays.

Should we publish our prices?

Generally yes. A large share of aesthetics searches are explicitly price-led, and clinics that hide pricing lose those searches to clinics that do not. Published pricing also filters out enquiries you would not have converted anyway. Indicative ranges work if exact figures depend on consultation.

Does our professional registration help with SEO?

Substantially. Aesthetics is treated as a high-stakes category where search engines apply a visibly higher standard to who is behind the content. Your registration, training and named practitioner profile should appear on the treatment pages themselves, not just an About page. It is also the thing a competitor cannot copy.

What search terms should an aesthetic clinic target?

Treatment category plus location for booking-ready patients, price-led variants for comparison shoppers, credibility terms such as nurse prescriber plus location, and research-stage questions about safety, longevity and aftercare. Most clinics build only the first and wonder why trust is hard to establish.

Why are you cheaper than the specialist aesthetics agencies?

Because we are built for a different client. Specialist aesthetics agencies are largely priced for groups running several clinics with a marketing budget to match. If that is you, they may well be the better fit and we will say so. If you are one practitioner or one treatment room, that pricing is not proportionate to what you would get back.

How long before we see enquiries?

Meaningful movement usually takes three to six months in aesthetics, which is more competitive than most local sectors. Improving pages that already rank can show sooner. We will tell you which situation you are in after the audit rather than promising a date, and we will not guarantee a position.

Do you work with clinics outside Nottingham?

Yes. We work UK-wide and everything is delivered remotely. Our clinic clients include practices in Coventry and Bradford. Local SEO for your area does not require us to be based in it.
